I first visited Scotland in my mid twenties when I worked as a sound engineer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was not until my youngest daughter went to university in that lovely town that I saw any significant amount of the gorgeous Scottish countryside. The diversity of this land is remarkable and I have yet to find any of it less than impressive. We holidayed on Rannoch Moor, drove across the Highlands and Islands and never a day passed without a rich collection of delights.
It’s hard to do justice to the amazing visual diversity that we encountered and there are necessarily many omissions here. These pictures are drawn from visits to Edinburgh, Rannoch, Skye, Islay and the Southern Uplands but I remain very aware that there remains much still to see and, even in the depths of winter, I look forward to my next visit.
